No, that was the third, mediocre episode. The real sequel, with Manfredi taking the place of Mastroianni, was L’audace colpo dei soliti ignoti, directed in 1959 by Nanni Loy (who, oddly, also directed the third episode of the Amici miei series after Monicelli’s first two blockbusters).

Thanks LD.

So here’s a tip, when you can’t find specific soundtracks, your best bet is YouTube to keep all esoteric music genres in one place 🙂 Pieoro Umiliani was the composer for this film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piero_Umiliani) and here are a few notable soundtracks from the movie:

More? Simply search on YouTube for “colonna sonora i soliti ignoti”

Enjoy!

Shlomi.

Nice write-up. Love the soundtrack but can’t find it anywhere. Just two tracks on a compilation album [Piero & Chet] and an EP totaling 10 minutes, with little hope that it was reissued as a CD. Any leads?
