About
cafe Pellicola is a vibrant community dedicated to celebrating the prominent achievements of Italian cinema. The selected films represent different styles of some of the great directors, from the Neorealist film movement to the present.
True, for every artistic choice — a close-up, colour palette or soundtrack — there is always a personal story the director is leveraging to convey a genuine narrative. Yet for us, the audience, this personal story is in most cases hidden. So we are left creating our own interpretations based on our personal experiences and beliefs.
This website is a time capsule of a blog we ran from 2006 to 2016. We refreshed its design in July 2026 — the writing remains just as it was. Enjoy!
Grazie!
